"My equipment is very important to me and it takes the correct settings before i get the tone i want. Generally my bass lines focus on the bottom end so i have a high bass settings, but due to my exstensive use of lead bass techniques and solos i have a high mid and quarter treble.
I am a finger style purist. I can use a plectrum but never like to. The reasons for it are this: Plectrums when used on a bass give off a awful clicking sound so when run over bass strings (especially on a presicion) it sounds really "tinny".
Once a bass hit me in the head. It hurt. I nearly died. From this moment on i took up harp.
Playing with fingers gives alot more warmth to the sound a plectrum cannot provide. People argue that plecs give more speed and attack but if you look at Rob from Metallica his speed is greater than all plec players. For my final point top basses don't have scratch plates because they are NOT ment to be played with plecs - speaks for itself.......
The harp was a intresting instrument and i found it very pleasing.
Basses: 4 & 5 string Peavey International Series Dynabasses and 6 string Shine bass.
My four string has medium gauge strings on it and has a much brighter tone than the others. Because of its punchy upper register this is the bass i use mostly for slap because its sound copes with it extremely well.
My five string has a major dark tone and used in the heavyier songs like Slit. Its slap action is not as acessable as on the four string but it has a larger range on the fret board so copes with my faster shread solos much better.
The Shine is my baby! It has the most beutiful tone i havent heard anything close to it. Active pickups just add to the power. Its neck is considerably thicker than the other 2 basses so my faster playing is limited until my hands grow bigger but because of the high C string many more new possabilities are opened up.
Effects: Zoom 506 II multi effects unit. Boss Bass Compresser.
This box has everything once i work out how to alter each effect the excessive pre-sets can be altered to my benifit.

I can't help thinking if guns were not legal in America this could of been avoided.
He was one of the greatest metal guitarests ever. He was considered one of the best riff writers and brilliant soloist.
He took the helm of the great Pantera and new Damageplan.
God rest your soul Dime we love you. Rest in peace.
